Rendering

Create a finished MP4 from your current timeline and follow progress while it renders.

#Before you render

Use the editor preview to refine these details. You do not need a new render for every small adjustment.

  • Watch the beginning, ending, and every scene you changed.
  • Check captions, names, numbers, and graphic values.
  • Refill any empty media slots or unintended gaps.
  • Check overlay timing, placement, and readable size.
  • Listen at 1× and balance narration against the score and effects.

#Start the render

  1. Click Render

Use the button in the top-right corner of the editor.

  2. Review the confirmation

Check duration, output dimensions, frame rate, MP4 format, clip count, captions, and music. This confirms the project’s output settings; it is not a format picker.

  3. Confirm

Choose Start render for the first version or Render again for an updated version.

  4. Follow progress

The rendering banner shows progress and an estimated time when available. Open Renders to view the current render and completed versions.

The editor Renders menu lists saved versions with Play, Download and Delete actions. The mountain storyRendersRender · 100RendersLatest renderJust now · 128 MBRender #11 hour ago · 126 MBSaved versionsOpen Renders in the editorto play or download a version.

#While the video renders

Rendering continues in the background. You can collapse its progress banner or leave the editor and return later. Reopening the project shows the current status.

Preparing or Estimating can appear before a useful time estimate is available. Estimates may change as the render progresses. A disabled Render button during this time prevents starting a duplicate render.

A saved render is a version of the video. If you make further timeline changes, review them and create another render afterward to include them.

#Render credits and version limits

The first render is included with the project. Re-rendering costs 100 credits. The editor shows the re-render cost on the Render button and in the confirmation.

Kinema keeps up to three renders per video. If the limit is reached, download any version you want to keep, then delete a stored version in Renders to make room. Downloading alone does not remove the stored render.

#If a render does not finish

Check the project status and any displayed error first. If rendering is still active, wait rather than starting the same action repeatedly. If it has failed, reopen the editor and check the affected media before trying Render again.

For a persistent failure, share the project link, the visible error, and the time of the attempt with support. Your editable timeline and any earlier completed render are separate from the failed attempt.
